Tarangire is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including large herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and buffalo. The park is also known for its predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Birdwatchers will delight in the park’s diverse bird species, including the endemic yellow-collared lovebirds and the kori bustard, Africa’s heaviest flying bird.
The best time to visit Tarangire National Park is during the dry season, from June to October, when wildlife congregates around the Tarangire River, providing excellent game viewing opportunities. However, the park offers rewarding experiences year-round, with each season showcasing unique aspects of its ecosystem.
