Tour Plan

Day 1: Arusha (1400 m) – Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) Mount Maru

Duration: 5-7 hours of hiking

Commencing the first day of your esteemed 4-day Mount Meru Trekking adventure, after a nourishing breakfast in Arusha (1400 m), you'll be graciously chauffeured from your accommodation to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Here, our diligent porters will meticulously organize and pack your essentials for the journey while you and your experienced guide complete registration with the Tanzania National Park (TANAPA). Embark on your ascent into Arusha National Park, akin to a captivating walking safari, where encounters with giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and even elephants along the trail are not uncommon. To ensure utmost safety amidst wildlife encounters, an armed ranger, appointed by the National Park, will accompany our expedition throughout. En route, marvel at the Ngarenanyuki River and a cascading waterfall at the foothills of Mt. Meru. Upon reaching the serene Miriakamba Hut (2500 m), savor a delectable dinner meticulously prepared by our chef, as you bask in the tranquil sunset, awaiting a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) – Saddle Hut (3500 m) Mount Meru

Duration: 3-5 hours of hiking

Following a hearty breakfast, embark on a journey ascending the steep trail along the ridge of the saddle. Be prepared for wildlife sightings as you traverse this awe-inspiring path! Gaze upon the panoramic vistas of Mt. Meru Crater and the Ash Tray along the way. Upon reaching camp, seize the opportunity to further acclimate by opting for a guided hike up Little Mt. Meru (3820 m). Enjoy an early dinner to ensure ample rest before embarking on your midnight summit endeavor. Retire by 19:00 for a rejuvenating rest.

Day 3: Saddle Hut (3500 m) – Summit Attempt (4566 m) – Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) Mount Meru

Duration: 10-12 hours of hiking

Rise at 00:30 to the comforting aroma of tea and biscuits as your guide prepares you for the summit attempt commencing at 1:30 am. Begin your ascent from Rhino Point (3800 m) to Cobra Point (4350 m) along a challenging gradient. The final leg of the journey entails scrambling on a rocky ridge nestled between the crater and inner cliffs of Meru. Witness the mesmerizing sunrise atop Meru's summit (4565 m), offering breathtaking vistas of Mt. Meru Ash Tray and the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. Descend to Saddle Hut for a brief respite before continuing the descent to Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) for a sumptuous dinner and a well-deserved night's rest.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut (2500 m) – Arusha (1400 m) Mount Meru

Duration: 2-3 hours of hiking

After indulging in a leisurely breakfast and ample rest, commence the final leg of your descent to Momella Gate. Traverse through lush forests and serene meadows, ideal habitats for wildlife sightings. At the base of Mt. Meru, bid farewell to the rugged terrain as our driver awaits to convey you back to Arusha
